Simple Pleasures

A good night's sleep — something you don't really think about or truly appreciate until it doesn't happen. Sweet dreams to you all tonight ...

Bohemian Paris

Haussmann architecture and contemporary furniture make for a warm bohemian mix in this Paris apartment, located in the Montmartre district of Le Marais. So pretty. More here on Elle Decor España.

Atelier: Vilhelm Hammershøi

Today I'm admiring the work of Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi, whose tranquil domestic scenes are enjoying something of a revival these days — there's an appreciation of his 'poetry of silence' as a Guardian article described it. Read more of the 2008 archived Guardian piece here.

Soft blue, green and silver tones to start your week gently. Have a lovely one.

Black and White

With its interesting architectural details, this 59 meter square one bedroom duplex apartment makes up for in character what it may lack in space. A simple palette of black and white keeps things open and airy, too. More here.

Happy weekend! Hope it's a lovely one. Looking forward to a forecast of perfect weather — and perhaps a picnic.

A Surreal Space

The 19th century Seville apartment of painter Chema Rodriguez has, amazingly, been pretty much untouched since it was first built. When he bought it, Chema was keen to keep it as intact as possible, relishing the cracks and chips caused by time — a window and two mezzanines are the biggest changes made to the space. A wonderful, art-filled creative space that definitely inspires. More here on Architectural Digest.

Sweetness and Light

Love this amazingly glam bar in the São Paulo home of Ricardo Minelli — though that fab mirror might get a bit worrying to look into after several martinis ...

Super Natural

A love of nature dating from childhood has inspired the soft organic touches seen here in the apartment of Hanne Berzant, co-founder with her husband of Danish design brand By Nord. Love the contrast between the modern white furniture and natural wood. More here on Interiørmagasinet.
