The transformative power of paint. A great way to change up your space quickly and to great effect.

Black, Beige and Pink
I was immediately intrigued when I saw this lovely Stockholm family apartment over at My Scandinavian Home — pale pink is often a sugary sort of colour, yet here it's used in such a crisp and modern way, contrasting beautifully with black and beige. Designed by Pella Hedeby and Marie Ramse for JM, it works perfectly with the strong lines of the architecture by Gert WingĂ„rdh. More here.

Atelier: Emily Sutton
Today I'm admiring the lovely work of English illustrator and artist Emily Sutton, whose exquisite images have appeared in books for the Victoria and Albert Museum, Faber and Faber, Penguin, Random House and brands such as Hermes as well as Fortnum and Mason. Love. See her work in person at her upcoming show at Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP), November 15 2014 to February 22 2015. You can view more on her website, too.
