Simple Pleasures

The warm patina on well used and well loved dishes and pans, used for countless family meals.

Jason Holley

I've been exploring the beautiful and atmospheric work of illustrator and artist Jason Holley recently — have a look at more of his portfolio on his website (and be sure to read his excellent commentary on his work, too — great insights into the whole illustration process).

SeeSaw 2011 Calendar

Raquel of the wonderful SeeSaw Designs emailed me recently about SeeSaw's new letterpress calendar for 2011, which measures 5" x 10" and, Raquel says, was inspired by vintage textiles, geometric shapes, and the beautiful imperfections of hand-drawn illustration, all foil stamped in metallic gold and then letterpress printed on an antique platen press. Not only beautiful, but what's especially clever is how each sheet is perforated, allowing the illustrations to be removed from the calendar section and either framed or used as a 5" x 7" postcard once its use as a calendar is over. It's $32 and available from the SeeSaw shop.
