Weekend

Happy weekend! Have a lovely one. And a lovely space to spend it in. Really like that bronze velvet couch against the wallpaper.

Milan Modern

Admiring the chic Milan home of Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto, founders of Studiopepe, a multidisciplinary design studio. Love their extraordinary eye for pattern and colour—and the seamless blend of antiques and modern pieces. Stunning. More here at AD France.

Victoria Day

It's Victoria Day here in Canada, so we're enjoying a long weekend — and one with spectacular sunny weather, too. Have a great Monday and see you tomorrow!

Sweetness and Light

Smitten with this stunning wall mural by Argentinian-born, Antwerp-based artist Pablo Piatti, created for the BOFFO Show House, a temporary installation curated by artist Andrew Yes that took place over the summer in the Madison Jackson building on New York's Lower East Side. Gorgeous.

Weekend

Happy weekend — and a happy long Thanksgiving weekend to my fellow Canadians, too. The weather looks great and the leaves will be at peak colour soon, so it's going to be wonderful. Have a lovely one.

Smile

This is making me smile a lot this week — a mural that I was commissioned by Mildred's Temple Kitchen in Toronto to design was installed on Tuesday! That's a 13 foot high wall, incidentally. If you're in TO, drop by for a visit — lovely staff and the food is just amazing.

Atelier: The Illustrated Villa

Today I'm admiring the extraordinary seaside Villa Santo Sospir, located in Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat in the south of France and lavishly decorated by the artist/poet/filmmaker Jean Cocteau. After meeting the villa's owner Francine Weisweiller (who became his muse) and viewing her home, Cocteau thought the walls were too white, and in 1950 he decided to draw on the walls with charcoal, working around the furniture, which was left in situ. Eventually he both drew and painted on all the walls, the ceilings, some of the furniture, created a wallpaper for the dining room and installed two mosaics as well. Amazing.
