Serenity Now
Admiring the glam mix of eras in this Madrid home designed by Estefanía Carrero. Those gold coffee tables, though.

Atmospheric in Madrid
Designers Ciszak Dalmas, Alberto Gobbino and Andrea Caruso took an archeological approach to renovating an old Madrid apartment, painstakingly removing layer after layer of linoleum, wallpaper, paint and false ceilings to reveal the bare bones of the original space. Now a home and studio to Ciszak Dalmas and his family (with creative partners Alberto and Andrea working there by day), it's a remarkably serene space that is conducive to creative thinking. More here on AD España.

An Artist's Space
Swooning over the gorgeous Madrid studio of textile artist Yolanda Andrés today — such an inspiring space. Here Yolanda lives, works and teaches embroidery to students, whose work can be seen on the walls along with Yolanda's own pieces. I love Yolanda's thoughts about creating:
"People increasingly need to work with their hands and make unique pieces. It is very rewarding after a workshop for students to go home with something done by them. It is unrepeatable and unique. They also look for good company — the atmosphere in the workshop is very good, everything flows and the space is beautiful!"
Love. More photos over here on AD España.

Photogenic in Madrid
This lovely Madrid apartment by interior designer Julian Gallego reminds me of the set design for Jean Cocteau's films — there's a slightly 1940s Surrealist feel to it. Beautiful. More here on Nuevo Estila.

Cosmopolitan Calm
Reworked by interior designer Erico Navazo, this 1970s Madrid apartment now has a more open layout and interior windows to allow the flow of natural light throughout. A neutral colour palette with splashes of red keeps the mood tranquil, making this space the perfect retreat from city life. More here on Nuevo Estilo.

Glam With Humour
Today I'm admiring this 1947 Madrid apartment by interior designer Carmen Rebuelta, who renovated the space for a couple with children. Carmen deftly mixes traditonal and mid century pieces with vintage glam, the latter adding a touch of humour — brass stork floor lamps and spiky wall accessories are additions that definitely don't take themselves too seriously. More here on Nuevo Estilo.
