Weekend

Happy weekend! Hope it's a lovely one. We'll be catching up with a bit of movie watching and (if the weather isn't too messy — it's been rain mixed with snow here) a walk around the neighborhood, too. How about you?

A Discerning Eye

Utterly love the beautiful home of Norwegian ceramicist Maria Øverby, an 1893 converted schoolhouse that's now a welcoming family home. I'm in awe of her amazing eye — furnished with lovely vintage finds, art and natural objects, her space is proof that she's a born stylist as well as artist. More here on sköna hem.

Groovy Style

This lovely Swedish home is a brilliant mix of flea market finds from the 70's, well chosen Ikea pieces and a little bit of midcentury modern design, too, such as the Hans Wegner chair in the living room. Love the inspired details such as the sofa designed by Niels Gammelgaard for Ikea in 1987, newly reupholstered in vintage 1960s fabric. In the kitchen, original wallpaper from the '70s is a perfect background for the Verner Panton Flower Pot from the same era. Personal and colourful, it's a home that shows how great style is within anyone's reach. More here from Sköna hem.

Pretty Industrious

What was a rather featureless 1960s apartment is now a space full of character and charm, thanks to its owner's amazing collection of vintage furniture and flea market finds. Here photographer and interior designer Benedikte Ugland lives with his two daughters in a home that mixes industrial chic with warm retro details. So pretty. More here on Sköna hem.

Design For Living

This colourful family home in Lidingö, Sweden is also a showcase for a collection of pieces by designer Josef Frank — looking around, you'll spot a round coffee table from 1952 in the living room, the Friendship Knot candlestick, a desk, dining room chairs and a floor lamp among many other items. But far from giving the house a museum quality, the collection blends with the rest of the home in a cheerfully relaxed way. So lovely. More here on Sköna hem.

High Octane

The tiny 1930s attic studio apartment of Hans Fabian Larsson may not have a lot of space, but you'd never notice — it's just bursting with energy. I love how Hans confidently mixes antiques and flea market finds, and then sets them against a background of vibrant colour. Wonderful. From here on Skona hem.

Classic Danish

This recent post on Sköna hem about classic Danish design has me longing to add a little more mid century loveliness to my home. Gorgeous.

Monochromatic Elegance

Swedish stylist and photographer Daniella Witte turns her camera lens on to her own lovely home for Sköna hem, and I'm so glad she did. Absolutely love the elegant restraint of her monochromatic palette, with its great industrial touches of concrete, brick and metal. Lovely. More here on Sköna hem.
