A Brief Pause

I've been under the weather the last few days, so posts here might be a bit sparse this week. Hope to be back asap.

Moroccan Paradise

A stunning space in Morocco for you today, the second home of London-based interior designer Lisa Burke. Gently renovated, this 18th century house has been decorated in a bohemian style that reflects the culture surrounding it, blending African and French influences. Currently available for seasonal rent, this tranquil home is where Lisa and her partner plan to eventually retire, far from the bustle of London. More here on Casa Vogue.

Moroccan Colour

Located in Gueliz, a neighbourhood in the centre of modern Marrakech, the 1950s home of Caitlin and Samuel Dowe-Sandes and their small daughter is a perfect showcase for their bespoke tile company, Popham Design. Love their radiantly confident use of colour. More here on Elle Decor.

Weekend

Happy weekend! Hope it's a good one. We're hoping to have a little picnic on Sunday afternoon — weather permitting, that is. How about you?

Groovy Morocco

While on holiday in Morocco to celebrate her birthday, London-born Emma Wilson was so enchanted with the sun, the sea, olive groves and villages with simple white houses, that when she came across an old abandoned riad in Essaouira on a whim she purchased it in one day. It was the beginning of a long love affair with this corner of paradise — Emma now has now completed three riad restorations, which she rents out for holidays. This enabled her to build a new house for herself and her family in the small village of Sidi Kaouki two years ago — one that blends the architecture of a traditional riad with a 1960s modern sensibility. Tranquil and playful, Emma's home is the perfect retreat from the distractions of city life. More here on Côté Maison.
