Netherlands Cool

Admiring this stunning conversion in the Netherlands today—two barns that are now the home and workspace of InaMatt, an interior design studio. Lovely. More about it here at French By Design.

Garage Glam

An old garage in Amsterdam is now the home of Peggy and Bouke, who were determined to move out of their old apartment and into something unconventional they could make their own. Love the results—and all those great vintage pieces, too. More about it here on vt wonen.

Dutch Light

This pretty Dutch family home has a splendid lightness of touch, with delicate pastels and blond wood used to great effect against the bright white background. So livable and welcoming. More here on vt wonen.

Northern Calm Revisited

In 2011 I featured the beautiful Friesland home of Dutch felt artist Paula Leen and her partner Kees Middendorp, the harbormaster of the village of Akkrum where they live. It's still one of my all time favourite spaces, so it was a true pleasure to see a new series of photos over at Dwell. I love the soft blues, grays and natural wood tones throughout, all evocative of the sky, fields and canals of the countryside surrounding them. Just lovely. More here on Dwell. And revisit my earlier post on Paula (and see more photos) here.

Quiet Style in The Netherlands

Located in the town of Alphen aan den Rijn in the Netherlands, the airy semi-detached villa of Anita and her family is designed to be a calm retreat from the stresses of the day. I love the little vignettes everywhere — so pretty. More here on vtwonen.

Modern Dutch

The top floor apartment of a mansion in The Hague has been transformed into this lovely, open loft-style space by Netherlands-based architectural firm Global Architects. Love those wide plank wood floors and original brick walls. More here on Elle Decoration UK.
