Weekend

Happy weekend! Have a lovely one. And a lovely space to spend it in. See more (and do go look—it's well worth it) of Australian furniture designer Nick McDonald's serene West Melbourne warehouse apartment here.

Monday

Starting the week on a relaxed note with this minimalist Australian home designed by Olivia Bossy. Love its early 1970's vibe, with an emphasis on organic forms and natural tones. See more of it here.

Very excited about this new collaboration between artist Laurie Anderson and Kronos Quartet. Great review in The Quietus—listen to a track from the album, too. Haunting, beautiful and intelligent music. Full album here.

Thought provoking article on how letting go of our fear of shame (of not being good enough or worthy enough) can inspire our best work as artists.

The Forgotten Everyday Origins of 'Craft'
From The Atlantic: "In his new book Craeft, the archaeologist and BBC presenter Alexander Langlands offers a fascinating and surprisingly relevant dive into a subject that might seem niche to many—the origins of traditional crafts in medieval Europe." Adding this one to my reading list.

A Sunny Space

The warm and sunlit Australian home of Worn shop co-founders Lotte Barnes and Lia-Belle King is a perfect antidote to the grey skies and freezing rain we're currently experiencing here in Canada. A beautiful space. Find out more here.

An Artist's Home

Six years ago artist Kate Tucker and her husband, Tom Crago, purchased a run-down turn of the century Edwardian house in Melbourne, needing more space with the arrival of their first child. Despite its poor condition, they could see its potential—and when they did renovate, it was with as light a hand as possible. Love the beautiful results (and artist studio in the back garden, too). More here at Dwell.
