Blissful in Blue
Take a tour of a tranquil Swedish home decorated in peaceful shades of blue. Really lovely.
Laurie Anderson's Favourite Films
Performance artist, director and musician Laurie Anderson picks her 13 favourite films for The Quietus. Fantastic list.
19 Remarkable Book Cover Designs
Print Magazine rounds up 19 beautiful book cover designs — the best show how a great design can transcend its original purpose and truly become art.
Otherworldly Landscapes
Prague-based digital artist Filip Hodas creates eerie, otherworldly landscapes that transport you to other worlds — ones where the laws of physics don't always apply. Surreal and beautiful work.
A New Beatrix Potter Story
This is exciting — The Tale of Kitty-In-Boots, a Beatrix Potter story left unfinished and lost for more than a century, is finally going to be published. Even better, the illustrations are being done by the legendary Quentin Blake (who did the fantastic illos for Roald Dahl's children's books). Can't wait.
Eating Your Greens Without Eating Salad
Some great ideas on how to get more dark leafy greens into your winter suppers, when you want something more warming and substantial than a salad (think soup).
Interactive X-Files
Something fun for those of us who watched the X-Files reboot last weekend — an interactive map that transports you to every X-Files location. The truth is out there — or maybe over here.
Shawarma-Spiced Chicken With Tahini Yogurt Sauce
Easy to make and served simply on pita with fresh herbs, lettuce, cucumber and tomato, this makes a great lunch or light supper.

Modern in India
German-born architect Niels Schenfelder had been working for 13 years in Paris when he left for what he thought would be a 3 month project in Pondicherry, South India. As it turned out, he loved it so much he never left. This beautiful space in the seaside village of La Dune is the eco-friendly weekend retreat Niels and his wife Malavika Shivakumar designed for themselves and their children, a respite from the noise of city life. Love the contrast of polished concrete and reclaimed wood — stunning. More here on Marie Claire Maison.

Simple Pleasures
Favourite kitchen tools, like the wooden spoon I always reach for — though I have several — or the small saucepan that's the perfect size for poaching eggs.

Small Attic, Big Living
Located in San Sebastian, Spain, this small attic space looks far larger than it actually is, thanks to a clever reworking by interior designer Concha Rodriguez. Several small rooms were joined into one, glass doors and panels were installed to provide both light while retaining privacy, and high gloss white paint reflects even more light throughout. The result is a serene and welcoming aerie up among the rooftops of the city. Lovely. More here on Nuevo Estilo.

Weekend
Happy weekend! Hope it's as groovy as this circa early '70s couch is. Not sure what I'll be doing, but there's a good chance it will involve movies and/or art. Hope you enjoy yours!

A Stunning Turkish Loft
Take a tour of an extraordinary penthouse loft in Istanbul, the work of Istanbul-based architecture firm Ofist. Think rustic circa 60s James Bond.
Dressing Down, Dressing Up
Rebecca Willis takes a look at fashion's current trend for the carefully worn and disheveled look, a protest of sorts against cheap, mass-produced clothing.
11 Secrets Hidden in Famous Works of Art
Famous works of art are often much more than beautiful images — replete with symbolism and allegories, they offer an additional depth and richness of meaning to the knowledgable observer. A fascinating sidelight in art history.
The Coffee House
A lovely, soothing Tumblr dedicated to coffee, cafés, and related subject matter. The perfect cure for jangled nerves.
The Origins of the Fairy Tale
This is interesting — researchers are discovering that the origins of fairy tales are far older than previously thought, with one tale dating back as far as the Bronze Age. Fascinating.
The Little Library Café
This is lovely — Kate Young cooks and bakes food inspired by her favourite works of fiction. Follow the link to her blog and recipes with great photos — she's on instagram, too.
7 Female Bass Players Who Helped Define Modern Music
Great overview and appreciation of the stellar musical contributions of women bass players to modern music, including studio musician legend Carol Kaye, Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads. Get inspired.
A Winter Bowl
Buddha bowls are very big right now — this winter version from The Awesome Green is filled with nourishing, healthy goodness (and if you prep beforehand it's super quick to put together). And if you wanted to get a little fancier, you could add this Lemon Garlic Tahini Dressing, too.

Seaside Reverie
I think I found my dream home — or Danish beach house, to be more accurate. Located in the village of Vedbaek, north of Copenhagen, Norm Architects took what was a dark, closed in 1853 house and turned it into the stunning space you see here. Love this one. More photos here on AD España.
