Happy weekend! Hope it's a lovely one. We'll be braving the bad weather to visit with family and maybe go check out what's new at the National Gallery — how about you?

The Helsinki home of Finnish interior designer Joanna Laajisto is an elegant mix of Scandinavian style and American mid century classics — the latter a taste she acquired after spending five years in the United States, first as a snowboard pro (it was where all her sponsors were) and then at an architectural firm. Back home in Finland, the space she shares with her husband and two children is an oasis of calm minimalist style — a beautiful summation of all her experiences. More here on Residence.
