This week's links. Enjoy.
A Proust Flow Chart
If your New Year resolution is to finally read Proust's classic work In Search of Lost Time, this might be handy to have on hand — an easy to follow flow chart of the novel's characters and their relationships to each other. Fun idea.
Bobbi Brown's Handbag
Take a peek into legendary makeup artist Bobbi Brown's handbag — and get inspired to get your own bag a little more pared down and organized, too.
A Literal Treehouse
Have a look at this amazing slide show of a literal treehouse — architect Aibek Almasov's design for a client's peaceful and remote Kazakhstan mountain retreat is built around an entire pine tree.
Work Smart: Do Your Worst Task First
A sensible idea — get the most onerous task in your day done first thing in the morning, so it's out of the way and not hanging over you. Just did this myself — this a.m. I successfully edited some HTML (of which I know pretty much next to nothing) and feel like I can conquer anything now.
Michelangelo's Grocery List
This is wonderful — a grocery list actually written by Michelangelo. Love the little drawings next to each item.
Books as Medicine
Feeling a little down after the holidays? Doctors in the U.K. are now prescribing books instead of pills for mild-to-moderate depression. Most of the titles seem to be along the lines of the self-help variety, but I would argue that reading great literature is just as effective in coping with the blues.
The Lost Art of the Cutaway Illustration
Wonderful article lavishly illustrated with vintage cutaway art, showing the insides of buildings, trains, boats and more. Loved these as a kid (particularly the ones of houses).
Main Course Salads
Saveur has assembled 22 colourful and hearty salads that are perfect fare after the holidays — they're light and packed with veggies and protein. Check out delicious options such as the classic French bistro Frisée Salad with Poached Eggs and Bacon, Israeli Chopped Salad and Cobb Salad.

I've been enjoying a lovely New Year's Day off with Andrew, so today's posts will be up a little later than usual. Hope you had a lovely day too and see you soon.
