When architects Paul Bernier and Renée d'Amours purchased this single family home in the Plateau Mont-Royal area of Montreal, Quebec, they found themselves with a clean slate — the interior had been completely stripped by its former occupant, who had then abandoned the renovations. A former butcher shop built in 1915, the proportions of the space posed a particular challenge for the team as it is only 25 feet wide. So they focused on going up and bringing in as much light as possible — the result is a modern loft that's surprisingly spacious in feeling, despite its narrow proportions. More here on Décormag.
