When Catalan interior designer Estrella Salietti discovered this abandoned garage in Barcelona, it was dirty, dilapidated and gloomy. Overgrown vegetation in the garden had turned the small backyard into a jungle, and six huge palm trees blocked out what little light there was. But Estrella loved the garage's potential and was up for the challenge — and the result is this light filled modern loft, which is now her home and studio. Furnished with a mix of antiques, vintage finds, classic design pieces and mementoes, all enlivened with strong colour accents, it's now a highly personal space that's a tribute to Estrella's amazing eye. By day (or, depending on the deadline, by night) I'm a Canadian collage illustrator. Since 2006, the automatism blog is where I share whatever I find inspiring, interesting, or simply beautiful in interiors, design, art, illustration and other creative fields.
