A Mill Transformed

Exuberant and playful, the Marseilles loft home and workshop of Lebanese-born stylist, set designer and artist Mitri Hourani is a temple to recycling. The house itself was formerly a mill, and it's now filled with a fascinating collection, the result of Mitri's philosophy of retrieving objects and then re-inventing them, giving them a second life. The resulting ever-evolving interior is a brilliant reflection of Mitri's vibrant imagination. More (in French) here on Marie Claire Maison.

Design Canada

The striking design of the Alouette Lamp by Miles Keller is based on Canada's first satellite — the Alouette, which launched back in 1962 and made Canada the 3rd nation into space. The lamp is available here.
