Bookshelf: A Christmas Carol
Watching the lovely 1951 film adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens story A Christmas Carol (the one with the incomparable Alastair Sim as Scrooge) is a holiday ritual for us, but reading other Christmas stories by Charles Dickens is one too — many of which are also ghost stories. Meant to be read aloud, these are wonderful to share with friends and family — perfect for listening to gathered around the fireplace or tree after Christmas dinner.

Reading Dickens' Christmas stories out loud is one of my holiday rituals too. I also love Jerome K. Jerome's collection of comic Christmas ghost stories, Told After Dark.
Thanks so much for sharing, Elizabeth — I'll have to check out the Jerome K. Jerome stories, too!
