Atelier: TAFA

Recently Elena of the lovely etsy shop Tickled Pink Knits was kind enough to tell me about the new-to me site TAFA — The Textile and Fiber Art List. A community of fiber artists and textile designers, TAFA features beautifully designed hand-crafted wearable art, wall art, home decor goods and sculptures. Many of the artists and small businesses on TAFA are also committed to social and environmental agendas and practices — even more reason to support this great community. I've picked a few pieces to show you here, but there's so much more to see on the site — do go and visit!

Thank you so much for posting about TAFA! We are super pleased! Elena has been amazing, jumping in and helping out with marketing. And, I am personally inspired each day as I see what all of the members are working on. So many different techniques representing cultures from around the world plus an amazing contemporary translation of that history. In reading the profiles, I see mothers and grandmothers thanked over and over for what they taught and inspired, so for those of you who have children, do plant those seeds of creativity!

Thank you for featuring TAFA and for selecting one of my creations to be part of it! It is an inspiration to be involved with a group of so many talented artists coming together to share their work, techniques, life experiences, and expertise. The Textile and Fiber Art List community is a wonderful place to learn, share, and create.
