A City Cabin

The isba, a traditional Russian log cabin, is a common sight in the countryside there. What is uncommon is seeing one of these in the centre of a city — but that's just what Denis Perestoronin, an antiques dealer specializing in icons and Russian folk art, has done inside the walls of his lovely Moscow apartment. “I didn’t just want a Russian-style home,” he says. “I wanted the real thing.” Read about his amazing undertaking — including transporting an entire wall from a 19th-century isba — here on Elle Decor.
