A beautiful photo collage by Lyse of Montreal-based imagine studio on etsy — pretty inspiration for Hallowe'en, I think. See more of her lovely work (and purchase prints) here.
I am very excited to be hosting a giveaway for the brand new book They Draw and Cook, based on the fantastic website of the same name! Featuring colourful illustrated recipes by an amazing variety of artists, illustrators and designers, it's both an art book and a cookbook — and it's just gorgeous. For a chance to win a copy, all you need to do is leave a comment below (with your email address) before midnight on Wednesday, October 26 2011. The winner will be announced the following day, on Thursday. Good luck!
P.S. Want to know more about TDAC? Check out their cute movie here, buy the fab 2012 calendar and prints from the shop here (with 50% royalties going to the artists) or follow them on Facebook for daily recipes and news here!
An old barn in Canada now finds itself settled in Connecticut, where it's been converted into a weekend retreat for a family of four. Designer Russell Groves was careful to retain the structure of the original barn, installing electricity, plumbing and other structural necessities without changing it internally. In terms of decor, Shaker style was a huge influence, balanced by more modern pieces. The result is a relaxed and welcoming space that happily mixes minimalist lines with the warmth and texture of wood. More (in French) here. Via Décormag.
