Cinema: Wings of Desire

This 1987 film by German director Wim Wenders is easily one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. Seeing it when it was first released in theatres was one of the most extraordinary experiences I've had — at the end of the film, there was dead silence and no movement in the audience — no one wanted to break the mood of spiritual wonder it invoked. A must see (and one of my absolute fave films, too). More here on Criterion.

It's what I always say is my favorite film if ppl insist on a choice. I haven't a VCR any longer & that's one of the few films I own. I'm going to ask for the DVD for my bday in Sept. I hope someone will listen...I like having it on 24-hour standby:)
