Yes to handwritten letters. Like to write them and receive them. It seems a lost art nowdays. Lovely picture! Have a great day (Mardi Gras, International Day of Women). Greetings from Prague, Veronika
Love the picture...and I love getting letters... The summer after my husband and I started dating, we wrote letters every day! I loved checking the mailbox ...
I love envelopes and paper and ink and all the ritual of writing letters. But no one does it even for fun anymore. In fact, the art of writing in lettres attachee is being completely lost on the next generations - it's out of the school curriculum - scandalous! My daughter learned to write but not my son. It pains me to see him printing his work. I cannot accept this and am coercing him (o.k. forcing him) to learn to actually write. So sad.
L'age moyen...do not despair. And it's not true that people don't do it for fun any longer. Look at Lori's own Benevolent Postcard Society project (of which I am a proud member). Also there are online clubs & movements to preserve this important feature of human society. I refuse to give up.
xoxo
PS: Buona Festa della Donna & a delicious Mardi Gras to all.
I am always so happy to visit you here. You consistently present us with the most beautiful, most tasteful posts. I've just been catching up and everything I see makes me smile. Thank you, Lori!
The rapidly diminishing art of letter writing ! There truly is something special about receiving a hand written letter, especially from a loved one. Touching and thought provoking picture!
By day (or, depending on the deadline, by night) I'm a Canadian collage illustrator. Since 2006, the automatism blog is where I share whatever I find inspiring, interesting, or simply beautiful in interiors, design, art, illustration and other creative fields.
