Just love the work of the Australian potter Samantha Robinson, whose handmade porcelain is both pretty and modern. Samantha's porcelain, besides being sold through Tsunami (Samantha's shop) is carried by Anthropologie, too. Discovered via dear ada.
Those are neat! They remind of some pieces I saw at a pottery show a few months back. Mostly elegant wide thin-walled white porcelain bowls, with only one small koi on the inside... Except that the bowl was designed so that the koi would appear on the outside if you shone a bright light on the inside. The bowls were being displayed that way and the effect was striking.
By day (or, depending on the deadline, by night) I'm a Canadian collage illustrator. Since 2006, the automatism blog is where I share whatever I find inspiring, interesting, or simply beautiful in interiors, design, art, illustration and other creative fields.

Just got back from Samantha Robinson's website, and her illuminator series uses the effect I'm describing... Cheers.
