This week's links. Enjoy.

Fresh From the Louvre
This sounds like a fun — and sumptuously illustrated — read. In his new book Food in the Louvre (Flammarion; $19.95), Yves Pinard, the head chef at the Grand Louvre restaurant beneath I.M. Pei’s pyramid, provides an animated commentary of forty works from the renowned museum and includes a sampling of his own recipes inspired by its paintings. Via @artnetdotcom.

Number 8 Giveaway
Lovely Rachel of Number 8 has not just one but TWO giveaways on right now! The first is a fantastic box of vintage paper ephemera, and the second is your choice of one of two lovely 8 1/2" x 11" giclee seashell photo prints — one of a grouping of seashells printed on luster paper, the other a beautiful piece of coral on matte finish paper. Hurry over before January 18 for a chance to win!

Moominvalley for the Home
Wow. A recreation of wonderful Finnish author Tove Jansson's beloved Moominvalley series — in 3D for the home. Via things magazine.

Strange Worlds
Artist Matthew Albanese creates tiny detailed models using various materials and objects to create emotive landscapes. Extraordinary work. Via The Morning News.

The Songs We Don't Sing
Thought provoking article by Toner Quinn in the Utne Reader (via the Journal of Music) about how singing at home seems to vanish from children's lives once they reach school age. Via ArtsJournal.

Sadie Olive
I've been having a great time browsing the lovely Sadie Olive shop on Etsy, which features vintage finds, all gorgeously photographed. Definitely addictive.

Come Rain or Come Shine
Illustrator extraordinaire Christophe Niemann's amusing personal weather predictions in the New York Times — charming as always.

Roasted Tomato and Basil Soup with Pesto Tortelloni
A lovely hearty soup for supper on a cold winter night, by Pam of For the Love of Cooking. Via Tastespotting.
