So I saw the Kees Van Dongen show at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts on Saturday, and it was fascinating! So many works I've never seen before, and seeing how his painting developed over the course of his (extraordinarily long) career was great, too. Have a look here for links to galleries and museums with his work, and here for an outline of his life. Shown here is Van Dongen's 1906 painting Dancers — Revel and Coco.
Some of my favourite fashion (or fashionable) illustrations from the wonderful Flickr pool Vintage Engravings, Etchings, Lithographs & Wood Block Prints. Gorgeous stuff. Via things magazine.
