These beautiful photographs by Christophe Kutner originally ran in an early '90s edition of (the French) Marie Claire Bis, which was my fave fashion magazine at the time — they were featuring some of the most beautiful and innovative fashion photography around back then. I haven't seen it here for years so I don't know what it's like nowadays, but in the 1990s it was amazing. I love the look of these photos, which I believe were inspired by the modern ballet of the late 1900s/early 1920s. (images scanned from my own magazine archives)
I'm thrilled to start the month off by introducing a brand new automatism sponsor to you — Amandromeda, the lovely shop owned and run by Amanda, who has the most amazing taste. Amandromeda specializes in vintage modern furniture and homeware, with an emphasis on chairs — among the wonderful designer pieces currently in stock are ones by Mies van der Rohe, Harry Bertoia and Wassily, plus modern classics from Herman Miller. The prices are also amazingly reasonable — it's only been my lack of available space around here that's stopped me from buying something from Amanda's carefully chosen collection! Do go and have a little browse around Amandromeda's product list — and don't be surprised if you find yourself doing a little bit of spring redecorating!
I'm happy to announce the winner of the Posh Puzzle Giveaway! And — here's the extra surprise — there's two winners! I used the random number generator at random.org to pick the lucky puzzle fans — it's number 1 and number 19, which means cmoi and val will be getting something in the mail other than bills soon! Yay! Thanks so much to everyone who participated — I only wish I could send you each your favourite puzzle!
