French designer Valerie Pasquiou moved to the US twenty years ago for an intriguing reason — as the result of losing a bet, the terms of which involved her traveling somewhere she hadn’t been before. Now based in New York, she works as a stylist and designer with some of the bigger names in Hollywood. I love her home — a loft that mixes French and American style with beautiful results. See more photos and read the LoftLife interview with Valerie here, too.

What a lovely home, both comfy and elegant, I love the rainbow cushion and there are some fantastic lampshades throughout.
That bench in the top photo is pure poetry. What serene, inspired rooms.
oooh so pretty and calming xo
What an awesome story--I love that she is so free-spirited.
I love how spare and clean this is. All the white. Love it!
I saw a bent wood bench like that one at the flea market years ago and didn't ask the price because I assumed it was too expensive, and now I'm kicking myself for not at least ASKING!! It's so gorgeous....
