I love the look and feel a chalkboard adds to a room. There's something incredibly nostalgic about it, something almost vintage. Being able to change notes and drawings is fun— almost like a revolving art show.
I love chalkboard walls especially the last photo. We have one painted onto the wall in our dining room but I hardly ever write on it because I can't stand looking at my own handwriting. Whenever I do want a "Happy Birthday" put up I have my husband do it in his engineering script. It's much better.
By day (or, depending on the deadline, by night) I'm a Canadian collage illustrator. Since 2006, the automatism blog is where I share whatever I find inspiring, interesting, or simply beautiful in interiors, design, art, illustration and other creative fields.

The first is so creative and whimsical, and I just adore the last. *sigh* I miss Domino....
Great post!
love the idea with a chalkboard!
I love chalkboards so much better than the whiteboards.
I really hope this chalkboard trend is here to stay - I absolutely love it!
Thank goodness Domino lives through you!
REALLY creative uses of chalkboard paint! Love it!

Great ideas. I never would have thought to use a chalkboard as a headboard. I love the last one though with "dog" over the bowl, so cute.
What a cool collection of chalkboards... want to live in all these places!
That bottom one with the old door is the best. Love the "Dog" note!
