Natural Red Hair

Photographer Hanne van der Woude combined a love of the Dutch landscape and a fascination with natural redheads (whom she decided to photograph seriously after reading in an English newspaper that they were a vanishing breed), when she shot this beautiful series of images — a series with a cinematic quality rather than the more usual documentary approach. The final pictures of 150 redheads are now published in the book MC1R – Natuurlijk rood haar (MC1R is the gene that controls skin and hair colour), with accompanying texts by Wim van Sinderen and Erik Sistermans. See lots more stunning photography from her project here. Via Lens Culture.

All beautiful.... I'm blonde but yet I have this strange and odd fascination for true redheads! Stunning! I especially love the photo of the boys on the railroad track.
