Calm Cool Reno

Photographer Paul Massey's renovation of a Victorian terrace house in London transformed it from a clutter of badly laid out, tiny dark rooms to the sunlit open plan space you see here. Though a veteran of renovations — this is his tenth — it was the largest project Paul had done, as he decided to do the whole space at once rather than working on a room at a time. Since this meant several weeks of no hot water, no electricity and no floor, Paul and his 10-year-old daughter, Daisy, left the builders to it and piled into their Sixties VW campervan for a five week trip around the Continent, happily collecting housewares along the way and, of course, taking lots of photographs. See more photos of the beautiful final results here. From Livingetc., via purple area.
