Morrison

I absolutely love the Winter 2008 collection from Morrison. Utterly gorgeous. I just wish they were available in Canada, though ... sigh. Here are some of my faves.

Beautiful. The perfect mix of classic and slouchy relaxed. Love all the greys / beiges / browns / blacks too. Fabulous layering. Sigh indeed...

The clothes are gorgeous, without a doubt.

The only small problem I see, is that they probably won't fit nicely on your average, non-skinny, person.

Too bad.

You're welcome, everybody! And Chantel -- don't be discouraged. What I love about looking at collections like these is how they inspire you to look at your own wardrobe with new eyes. Touches such as the long scarf draped casually over an outfit, the play with tones ( such as cream/brown/greige), or the light layers used to add interest -- are examples of the details that I would pick and choose when applying this look to myself, since not all of this would be wearable for me, either. I just have fun with it!

Wow, beyond gorgeous!
Thanks so much for introducing me to this label!
(Don't think it's available in Holland, but it's still beautiful!)

Thanks for treating my small criticism so diplomatically, Lori. I just get a little frustrated because I see a lot of really beautiful clothes out there, that I'd love to buy, but know won't fit me. I still look at clothes though, for the inspiration that they bring, and the hope that one day, they'll be a little more reflective of the shape of the average population.

You're more than welcome, Chantel -- lovely to see you again, too. The nice thing about fashion these days is that there's no one style that must be followed -- there's a lot more choice out there. Which makes me very glad, after seeing the current season's peg leg pant trend (high waisted, full pleat top, tapering to tiny ankles). I have no clue who'll be able to wear these and not look like a circus clown. As for me, I'm planning on finding some wide legged straight cut pants, à la 1940s Katherine Hepburn, and going retro classic ...

:-)

Oh my goodness, what a stunning collection! Love the cool, casual chic look that's been a recurring theme this Fall.
