These fantastic record album designs are just a few examples I've chosen from gokudo, a Japanese site with a stunning collection of Vanguard album covers. I've concentrated on the ones that use illustration (to brilliant effect), but there's plenty more on the site that feature stunning photography (or pure design) as well. Via ffffound!

Aren't they great? And wouldn't it be cool if we could all hang around a groovy mid century modern living room one rainy afternoon, listening to these fantastic records while checking out the album cover artwork? Oh, and there'd be a few trays of nibbles, too ...
