French sculptor and painter Suzanne Delarue's atelier is as beautiful as her work. The extensive use of white in her home serves as a sympathetic backdrop for her favourite delicate tones, derived from nature. These notes of soft green or mineral brown are brightened by the gold mirror frames and architectural features hung throughout the space. Filled with natural light by day, at night the studio is transformed by the glow of lit candles into a warm and intimate space, made luminous by the reflections of firelight in the gilding. I really like the bookshelf shot, especially those tall white lamps.
And the circular sculpture in the bottom image is quite beautiful also... I'm assuming that's one of her works?
even her books are the same color!
very pretty.
Jane -- the circular sculpture is actually a Venetian glass necklace by Claude de Muzac, though the framed drawing behind is by Suzanne.
Joanna -- gotta love those traditional French paperbacks!
:-)
love all the white and the little bistro table.
How exciting - spending my friday night looking through your older posts and I find you have blooged this place - one of my all time favourites ... scanning is a great idea!
