A Way Into India

Or, in the case of my brother Greg right now, a way around India, as he gets set to drive in a hired car from Jaisalmer to Delhi (taking in Pushkar, then Samode, then a wildlife reserve along the way), to catch his plane home. Chances are he'll be riding in an Ambassador car like the one shown here, on the cover of the great documentary photographer Raghubir Singh's final great book project, "A Way Into India." At the very least, lots of the scenes in the book will be quite familiar to Greg by now...

Booklist: The Art of Looking Sideways

Fascinating book by Alan Fletcher, that I've had on my book wish list for a while. Hard to describe, but here's a good stab at it from Patrick Burgoyne, Editor of Creative Review magazine: "To read The Art of Looking Sideways is to rummage through the mind of a true original: a vast repository of ideas, images and anecdotes guaranteed to free even the most stubborn of creative blockages."
